Club Cabtains Report - February 2019

As always there has been a good selection of rides in our club.

The clubs Christmas party was again hosted this year by Peter and Toni Birthisel in Bundelong, the weather was hot with a few cooling off in the pool after dinner.

This years first rally for me was the Goulburn rally which was an excellent weekend as always, it was too hot to ride on Friday so the afternoon was spent socialising. Riding resumed on Saturday with fog and drizzle and the Goulburn Swap meet on Sunday. The Goulburn Classic Riders Club invited the Indian Motocycle Club to display our bikes at the swap and Peter and Toni Birthisel bought up their 1914 TT Racer to display which has been linked to the Inaugural Australian Tourist Trophy Race held in the Goulburn District in 1914. The Peter McAliece Breakfast ride was also held the same weekend with a great turn out of bikes.

Due to the Great Race being postponed we decided at short notice to have a rally to Omeo on the Australia Day long weekend. Two groups, one destination – Omeo, the first group left from Wodonga in North East Victoria and the second group leaving from Tyeres in Gippsland, Victoria where we both meet up for an overnight stay in Omeo.

The next ride coming up is the Rubicon Rally on the Labour Day long weekend (Vic) in March, book with myself or Mai-lei asap for a great weekends riding around the Eildon, Jamison, Alexandra and Euroa countryside.

Make sure you register your interest for the upcoming Tasmania Rally in Feb/Mar 2020 if you are interested in going, further details will be released in coming months.

The International Rally will be held again in Beechworth at the George Kerford Hotel in November, if you haven’t already booked make sure you do asap as rooms are booking up fast.

Keep your eyes on the club calendar for all upcoming monthly events, which can be found in the magazine or on our website.

Have them ridden, not hidden, come along to our rides and see what it’s about with likeminded people.
